Parish - Mission Statement

We, the people of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, recognize our call to grow as a faith community. Accepting the privilege and the challenge of this call, we envision our parish in the future as:

  • A worshiping community, who sees the primary role of liturgy in our worship. We seek to encourage full participation and faith response while being aware of our divergent backgrounds and life experiences. We seek to unite the community in its awareness of the personal and community encounter with God through a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist.

  • A community who affirms the worth and the uniqueness of each person. We encourage each person to attain their individual potential, recognizing individuality as a source of strength to facilitate community growth. Through common effort we seek to build up the community so that every person feels an integral part of it.

  • A community who proclaims the message of Christ by being a living witness to Christian ideals, virtues and values that are cultivated and practiced.

  • A faith community who teaches the message of Christ through programs and activities directed to the concerns and needs of the entire community.

  • A faith community who lives out our obligation to serve by recognizing and identifying the needs of all people, and seeking to implement ways to alleviate want.

We recognize this statement is merely the end of the beginning. We pray for God's guidance and strength to continue to respond to this call to be a parish faith community.
