| History
of CCD The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) was
an association established at Rome in 1562 for the purpose of giving religious
instruction. Till about the thirteenth century, the Apostles' Creed and Paternoster
formed the general basis of religious instruction; all the faithful had to know
them by heart, and parish priests were commanded to explain them on Sundays and
festivals. Then the range of instruction was widened to include the Commandments
and sacraments, the virtues and vices. The Saints Peter
and Paul Religious Education process strives to develop and cultivate the faith
in every area of the life of the child, young adult, or adult of the parish. Faith
is a life-long process it is not accomplished quickly, nor is it complete after
a certain number of years. A knowledge of one's religion and a living out of one's
faith is ongoing; growth and change are an integral part of the process. Saints
Peter and Paul educates the child or young adult in the living faith of the Church
and is designed to help at each stage of human development leading to full identification
with Jesus Christ. Teaching the Gospel values encourages harmonious development
of the spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical and social skills of each child,
young adult and adult. If you are interested in our Religious
Education Program, please contact Mrs. Patricia Ehrhart, the Director of
